Dr. Alexia Mays

Dr. Alexia Mays is the legacy of Jesse and Leona Mays who stood on the front lines fighting for equal rights, standing against segregation and paving the way for future generations to follow. 

 

A Cancer survivor and Sickle Cell Warrior, Alexia suffered the loss of her  family at a very young age.  She has used her pain and turned it into purpose. 

 

Alexia is a research scientist and epidemiologist who focuses her time on research, equality in healthcare, youth mental trauma and grief,  policy, advocacy, political engagement and most importantly , working with organizations, faith based groups, civic groups, and associations to develop and execute policies to assist those in our most vulnerable communities. 

 

Her Story is one of overcoming, and reminds us that we can all overcome with Faith, Strength and Determination.

Dr. Mays is an innovator and leader with over 35  years experience, education and knowledge in rare disorder, youth trauma and grief, research, policy, healthcare, minority equality, strategy, outreach and crisis management. 

​

She is a Visionary and Builder with deep education and experience in clinical research, youth mental health, crisis management, healthcare, engagement, policy, strategy and outreach.

 

She is an effective communicator and motivator who identifies, researches, and assesses to reach goals.

Dr. Mays is a relentless optimist who believes there is no failure, only feedback.

She is a lifelong learner committed to staying on top of the best and most current and emerging research, outreach and communication practices. 

​

Dr. Mays is a Public speaker and Panelist Expert on youth grief and trauma,  systematic racism in healthcare,  panel expert on rare disease, diversity and culture inclusion in politics and policy engagement, she is a expert on Polling Inclusion in Race Related Demographics. Youth Trauma, Grassroots Specialist  and Training Specialist in Racial Demographic Outreach and Urban Minority Performance Data.
