Dr. Alexia Mays
Dr. Alexia Mays is the game changer in advocacy, outreach and politics. She wears many hats, and wears them well. Whether she is involved in ground breaking research, or changing the world thru advocacy and grassroots outreach, she is committed to making a difference.
Dr. Mays is the legacy of Jesse and Leona Mays who stood on the front lines fighting for equal rights, standing against segregation and paving the way for future generations to follow.
A Cancer survivor and Sickle Cell Warrior, Alexia suffered the loss of her family at a very young age. She has used her pain and turned it into purpose.
Alexia is a research scientist who focuses her time on research, equality in healthcare, policy, political engagement, advocacy, youth mental trauma and grief, and most importantly , working with organizations, faith based groups, civic groups, and associations to develop and execute policies to assist those in our most vulnerable communities.
Her Story is one of overcoming, and reminds us that we can all overcome with Faith, Strength and Determination.

Dr. Mays is an innovator and leader with over 35 years experience, education and knowledge in rare blood disorder, policy and politics, research, healthcare, minority equality, strategy, outreach and crisis management.

She is a Visionary and Builder with deep education and experience in clinical research, healthcare, crisis management, politics, engagement, policy, strategy and outreach.
She is an effective communicator and motivator who identifies, researches, and assesses to reach goals.
Dr. Mays is a relentless optimist who believes there is no failure, only feedback.

Dr. Mays is a Public speaker and Panelist Expert on youth grief and trauma, politics and policy, systematic racism in healthcare, panel expert on rare disease, diversity and culture inclusion and engagement. She is a expert on Polling Inclusion in Race Related Demographics, Youth Trauma, Political Outreach, Grassroots Specialist and Training Specialist in Racial Demographic Outreach and Urban Minority Performance Data.
Dr. Mays is a presenter and panelist at healthcare conferences and symposiums, youth grief and trauma summits, women's events, political engagement events and sickle cell conferences throughout the year.
